Owner’s Advice Before Choosing a Pre-Glued Sleever
A pre-glued sleeve must have an opening larger than the product’s maximum cross-section so that the product can be inserted reliably. This necessary clearance generally results in a looser fit than wrap-around sleeving.
For round containers, pre-glued sleeving is also unsuitable when the sleeve includes retention cutouts. The sleeve cannot be both large enough to slide over the container and small enough for the cutouts to engage securely beneath a rim, shoulder or other retaining feature.
I recommend pre-glued sleeving for simple, moderate-speed single-pack applications where cost, footprint and ease of operation matter most. For tight-fitting sleeves, retention cutouts, edge-lock designs or stable multipacks, a wrap-around sleever is the correct solution.
