"Gran Sonata“ Balcony Cartoner
Full Stainless-Steel Cartoning Machine
“GRAN SONATA” is a fully servo-driven balcony cartoner featuring an open balcony and drop-through structure for improved accessibility, maintenance, cleaning and hygiene. Its simplified mechanical transmission minimizes the use of chains, sprockets and gears, reducing maintenance requirements and eliminating the need for regular lubrication.
With fewer horizontal surfaces where dust and debris can accumulate, the machine is well suited to food packaging applications and can be configured as a washdown model at additional cost. Designed for large carton formats, “GRAN SONATA” can accommodate applications up to the size of a 12-inch pizza box.

Operation Sequence
Products are received by the servo-driven infeed bucket conveyor, where they are separated, positioned and synchronized with the cartoning cycle. At the same time, the double-head rotary carton feeder picks a flat carton blank from the magazine, opens it and transfers the erected carton into the continuously controlled transport system.
Once the carton and product reach the loading station, the servo-driven pusher inserts the product through the open end of the carton. The minor and major flaps are then folded in sequence, hot-melt adhesive is applied by the Focke Meler B4 gluing system, and the carton is compressed to ensure secure closure. The completed carton is finally conveyed out of the machine by servo-driven lug chains or timing belts.
